I'm not your typical maths coach.
My journey began as someone who was once ‘bad at maths’ and feared the subject. Now, I see the joy and beauty in mathematics and help others do the same. Having experienced maths anxiety firsthand, I help teachers and students nurture their "inner mathematician" so they can approach the subject with excitement and confidence. While my only formal qualification in mathematics is a grade C at GCSE, I am now a contributor to the Concept-Based Inquiry Mathematics project and I have led professional development for educators in a number of schools. I use my unique perspective to help others to transform their relationship with mathematics.
I became a Maths Coach because I’ve lived the journey firsthand. With nearly 25 years of classroom experience, I’ve taught maths both horrendously badly and exceptionally well. Through these experiences, I’ve learned what truly works when the culture and learning environment are right. My passion is in empowering teachers to unlock their potential and foster a love for mathematics in their students. From Kindergarten to Grade 5, I’ve helped educators transform their teaching, and I can bring this transformative expertise to your school to cultivate confident, capable and eager mathematicians.
